PASSENGER ASSISTANCE

Whether you’re an elderly passenger, pregnant, a passenger with reduced mobility, travelling with a baby or accompanied by young children, L’Express des îles is happy to assist you as soon as you arrive at the passenger terminal: assistance while checking-in, priority boarding, etc.

Please inform us when making your reservation if you are in need of assistance.

Travelling with a baby

Please inform us when making your reservation if you will be travelling with a baby

  • During the trip, the baby must be accompanied by a competent adult.
  • Exception: the person accompanying the baby can be aged under 18 years if that person is the baby’s father, mother or legal guardian.
  • One passenger can travel with one baby. A second adult is needed if a second baby is travelling.
  • The baby travelling on a parent’s lap benefits from a baggage allowance of 25 kg. There is no additional cost for a compact folding buggy (maximum dimensions 15 cm x 30 cm x 100 cm).
  • Travelling with young children

Your child may want to travel with his/her own bag carrying some favourite items. Prior to departure, be sure to pack some of his/her favourite books, toys or teddies to make the journey more pleasant.

Buggy: if you’re travelling with a child of over 2 years, there is no additional cost for a compact folding buggy (maximum dimensions 15 cm x 30 cm x 100 cm). This can travel in the cabin.

    Your child is travelling unaccompanied

An unaccompanied minor cannot travel on our international lines (Guadeloupe / Dominica / Martinique / Saint Lucia).
On our domestic lines (Marie-Galante / Les Saintes), your child may travel unaccompanied if they are in the company of another passenger you know and trust.
Children must be accompanied by a competent adult. However, the person accompanying the child can be aged under 18 years if that person is the child’s father, mother or legal guardian.

    You’re pregnant

You’re expecting a child? Congratulations! That shouldn’t prevent you from travelling!
Below is some travel advice to help you have a safe and comfortable trip.
Do I need a medical certificate?
You don’t need a medical certificate to board our ships.
However, we recommend you seek the advice of your doctor before travelling.
    Travel advice

    • Wear loose, comfortable clothing
    • Avoid unnecessary walking on board.
    • Drink regularly, but avoid fizzy drinks.
    • Avoid heavy meals.
    • Avoid travelling during the last month of pregnancy and during the first seven days after the delivery date.
    • You have a disability

You have reduced mobility due to a handicap (motor, visual, hearing or mental), or due to your age or an illness?
